The Ministry of Health works in partnership with Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) an affiliate of Marie Stopes International in providing reproductive health services. Takunda’s mother, Emmaculate Ndengwa, 22, fell pregnant due to the lack of availability of her preferred reproductive device due to the work-stop order issued by the US government, which led to shortages in the supply of contraceptive options for many people around the world. Despite the drastic impact of USAID’s stop-work order, Marie Stopes International has tried to support PSZ in its operations in Zimbabwe.
